How does Marriage Counseling work with marriages?
Each of you fills out your own Pre-Session Form and makes an individual appointment. Before we can address the more complex dynamics of your marriage, your Counselor wants to hear your concerns--privately.

After both of you have both had your initial private session, a three way appointment can be made. After that, a combination of private and conjoint sessions can be made.

What happens during Marriage counseling?
The bottom line about any marriage that is having problems, is that needs are not being met.

Your Counselor will teach you how to meet each other's deepest needs, how to resolve past hurts, how to stop damaging conflicts and how to restore those original loving feelings.

Towards the end of your session, you and your Counselor will create a specific Action Plan that can immediately start turning things around.

What if my spouse doesn't want to participate?
Although it is most ideal when both are committed to making changes in the Marriage--significant changes can be made even if therapy is done with only one person.
Marriage Counseling

Many times, marriage Counseling starts out as Individual Counseling and after a little while, the other person will want to participate.

If I am in counseling by myself and my spouse wants to join in later, won't my Counselor be biased toward my point of view?
This may be common for counselors who are not skilled and experienced specifically in Couple Counseling. Our specialty is marriages, and we are trained to understand each person's perspective.

We are considering divorce, can you still help?
Yes! There is reason to hope regardless of what has happened in your past--or for how long.

What if our marriage is in real crisis?
The Weekend Intensive is the most effective way to go for couples who are really hurting, or who are falling apart. Sometimes, a once a week session is just not going to cut it--when couples are in crisis.

The Weekend Intensive is tailored to meet your specific needs and situations. Rather than follow a "cookie cutter" format, we aim to make the Weekend Intensive flexible, and to best give you what you want to get out of it.

During your Weekend Intensive your Counselor/s will guide and support you to transform your marriage. The entire weekend is dedicated to what ever you need to get the changes you want.

What makes the Weekend Intensive so unique and powerful?
Something special comes from dedicating an entire weekend to focusing on your marriage. Being away from daily stresses and distractions, a Weekend Intensive is a focused time to allow healing, and is a powerful way to help in serious need. We have been told by some couples that they got more from one weekend with us than they did from months of marriage therapy sessions.

Two types of Weekend Intensives are available:

The Private Weekend Intensive.

We work exclusively with you for the entire weekend. Pay Pal accepted. (This does not include travel costs, meals or lodging). We will help you make hotel arrangements. The private Intensive offers you the greatest focus, the greatest privacy and depth of work. It is by far the type of Intensive we do the most, and it is in the highest demand by couples. This Weekend Intensive is available throughout the year and can be set up on short notice. Generally we can find a time within two to four weeks of your inquiry.

The Small Group Weekend Intensive.
You and your partner join a few other couples for a Weekend Intensive. Pay Pal accepted. (This does not include travel costs, meals or lodging). We will help you make hotel arrangements. The small group Weekend Intensive shares its focus among different couples. Arranging this type of Intensive may take more time to arrange since we need to match schedules with other couples. It is still a very beneficial weekend geared towards healing the couple in crisis.

If you are interested, you may contact us: We would like to communicate with you before deciding to do either type of Weekend Intensive. The Weekend Intensive format works for most people, but it's not always the best fit for everyone. We would like to discuss it with you first by email and then phone.
